INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST

You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert Chief Engineer for the Exodus Data Warehouse of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.


  • You will perform hands-on system and network engineering and administration in a Unix (BSD, Solaris, etc), Linux, and Windows environment with Oracle servers and Cisco networking equipment.
  • You will utilize real time and post-test data product knowledge in the areas of platform data, radar, telemetry, video, audio, Time, Space, Position Information, and modeling and simulation to the design and improvement of the Exodus Data Warehouse.
  • You will design and document system architecture.
  • You will oversee all aspects of hardware/network/software development: planning, requirements, system design, detailed design, implementation, testing, information security, and configuration management.
  • You will work with range infrastructure to establish efficient and effective data delivery mechanisms to the warehouse, for both real-time and post-test products.

Requirements

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional scientist or engineer. Specialized experience includes the following: 1) Developing data processing architecture using a UNIX operating system, preferably a trusted operating system (eg. Solaris with Trusted Extensions or SE Linux); 2) Interfacing with current and potential customers to understand requirements and explain capabilities of data-centric system; and 3) Defining and managing development and test environments to support hardware and software technology improvement projects.
